EVACUATION OF LIFTS

Rope evacuation procedure.

For safety reasons, we may have to evacuate our lifts in an emergency. Should this situation arise, please be assured that:

  • Our personnel is adequately trained to respond to this type of intervention;

  • Our equipment is rigorously inspected;

  • The rope evacuation procedure is a safe way to lower a tall or short person from a chair;

  • Stay calm. The anticipation of an unknown situation is often more frightening than the situation itself. Keep a positive and confident attitude. This will make a big difference in your ability to respond appropriately to the situation. It's going to be okay!

  • Trust us, we have the situation under control and we will get you out safely.

Evacuation times:

Our estimated evacuation times for our lifts, if at full capacity are as follows:

  • Summit lift A : 3:30

  • Mid-Mountain lift B : 2:30

Note: Weather conditions and other logistical constraints could have an impact on the intervention time. We will keep you informed on our info-reach page.

Practical advice:

  1. Keep your body heat as much as possible during the evacuation waiting period. If you have a hood, wear it.

  2. If you have hand warmers, use them.

  3. Be aware of other passengers in the chair. Remain calm and build trust within your group.

  4. Get the smallest or most at-risk people off to begin with if possible.

Emergency Contact:

If you encounter an emergency situation, notify the patrollers who will be under the chairs. They are your best contacts as they are the first responders.
