This full-day outing is the perfect opportunity to get familiar with our bacountry zones. You’ll also learn how to manage your backcountry trips, master your gear, and develop alpine touring techniques. An unforgettable experience that will make you forget the resort!

This is the perfect package for anyone who wants to try backcountry skiing but isn't sure if they have the right skill level.
In the morning, a professional guide will accompany you at the resort through glades and mogul runs so you can practice skiing in a variety of terrain.
In the afternoon, you'll head out for an ascent in the backcountry area. You'll get familiar with the equipment and learn the basics of alpine touring.
A delicious lunch is also included in the price of your booking.

Training & Courses
Training is essential to the development of the Haute Route and the safe practices associated with it.
To help you continuously expand your knowledge, we offer a series of introductory and advanced courses focused on backcountry skiing and snowboarding.
Avalanche Skills Training 1 (AST 1)

Equipment (available for rent if needed):
Backcounty skis or splitboard with appropriate boots
Climbing skins
Poles
Helmet
Ski goggles
Backpack (25 to 40 liters)
Clothing (layering system):
Base layer in merino wool or synthetic fabric
Warm mid-layer (wool, fleece, etc.)
Waterproof/breathable pants and jacket (Gore-Tex type)
Extra insulated jacket (down or synthetic)
Two pairs of gloves or mittens (one thin pair for the ascent and one warm pair for the descent)
Neck gaiter or face mask
Beanie
Other essentials:
Water bottle (1 liter)
Thermos with your favorite hot drink (tea, chicken broth, etc.) if temperatures are cold during your outing
Fully charged cell phone
Hand warmers and foot warmers
Don’t forget to bring a tip for your guide. They work hard to make your day as enjoyable as possible!

A $30 administrative cancellation fee applies to all cancellation requests.
If you decide to cancel your reservation:
More than 15 days before your arrival: Refund, minus the $30 administrative fee or you can reschedule your date for free (for the same season)
15 to 8 days before your arrival date: 50% refund or you can reschedule your date for free (for the same season)
Less than 7 days before your arrival date: 25% refund.
